Why does my dog do that?!
Without training, dogs are left to make their own choices. They do what seems right to them, what their basic "doggy" instincts tell them to do. These instincts are there at birth. Things like hunt, chase, dig, forage, travel with a pack. if you think about some common dog behavior problems in that light, it makes sense that when an untrained dog is left to decide what to do, he will:
- Run out through open doors without permission.
- Dig in the back yard.
- Not come when called.
- Steal food from counter tops and trash cans.
- Only obey obedience commands if you offer him food.

- Love to chase and be be chased.
- Growl to protect his bones, food, toys
