About Us - Dallas

Juan and Irais Faura are the Canine Dimensions trainers serving the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding areas.  Juan and Irais are both certified dog behavior advisors and members of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the International Association of Canine Professionals.   They are also certified evaluators for the AKC Canine Good Citizen program. 

Juan first began his relationship with dogs as a young boy in Mexico City, where strays and homeless dogs provided the most natural and real life exposure to canine behavior.  As a young adult Juan began to demonstrate a knack for handling large, high drive, difficult dogs with ease.  Later, he helped friends and family members train their newly adopted or purchased dogs as well as correcting unwanted behavior by dogs they had been living with for years.  After a successful career in advertising and authoring two books, Juan made the decision to finally pursue his “dream career” - training dogs. 

Irais holds a degree in psychology, something that has been very useful in her development as a dog trainer.  Irais has an incredible “soft touch,” an ability to break through to dogs that may seem hard headed or stubborn through the utilization of patience and cynopraxic (i.e. dog friendly) training techniques.  Like Juan, Irais has worked with dogs since she was a child having also been exposed to packs of stray or homeless dogs in her native Guadalajara, Mexico.

Juan and Irais have developed a reputation as being among the best dog trainers in Texas.  They are the training directors for Paws In The City, a non-profit, no-kill shelter based in Dallas.

Juan, Irais and their dogs Lola the Boxer and Baron the Dogue de Bordeaux, are long time Dallas residents.

 Canine Dimensions Dallas Region serves, but is not limited to, these areas:  Preston Hollow, Highland Park, University Park, Lakewood, Plano, Kessler Park, Irving, Colleyville, Southlake, Addison, Fort Worth, Uptown, Downtown, Deep Ellum, Rockwall, Carrollton and McKinney.  Also Dallas, Collin and Tarrant counties. 

Here are just of few of the many success stories from our Dallas training team:

Juan is an amazing trainer.  We have quite a few dogs in our rescue organization that we, unfortunately, were unable to find foster homes for and they were in boarding for a long period of time and developed behavior problems.  Thanks to Juan, we were able to work with these dogs and get them in foster homes and even adopted!  We are so grateful to him and appreciate his generosity to our organization.  If you have a dog that needs training, Juan is your man!

Juan and Irais, we are really grateful and appreciative of all your work with Maverick. Being as big and playful as he is we were really not sure he could be successfully trained, we would have been satisfied with just having a more manageable dog, but you have far exceeded our expectations. Maddox is doing awesome!  Walks on the leash great now. You are very talented.  I have had dog trainers before and they either put on a big show with the dog, which I could not follow, or talked a mile a minute which I could not follow. I really appreciate that you got me to implement these new measures.  This is so much better.
