Our philosophy on puppy training is simple: The best place to train your puppy is in your home.

The best person to train your puppy is you! But this does not mean you have to go it alone. Our Puppy GoodStart program walks you through your puppy's entire training, development and socialization process step-by-step.

We teach you how to become your puppy's primary trainer.

This helps you form an extremely powerful bond with your new puppy during each of the critical early developmental periods.

We let you know what to expect at each stage of the puppy's development, and help you jump all of the inevitable hurdles of puppy parenting like housebreaking, nipping, chewing, crate training and more.

Our program quickly and easily helps train all of the basic obedience commands (sit, down, come, stay, drop-it).

We do not recommend training a puppy in a group setting, because group lessons for new puppies do not follow the right order of learning. An effective training program uses a three stage learning process - Instruction, Correction, Distraction - in that order.

When you take a puppy to a chain store for group lessons, they are being expected to learn things while being subjected to the highest imaginable level of distraction - other dogs!

Some people claim that a group setting is necessary for your puppy's early socializatione experience, but in fact group classes are not the optimal way to socialize your puppy. Instead, we explain exactly how, and when, to socialize you new puppy to people and other dogs. It's all included in the Puppy GoodStart Program.

Chain store lessons are usually cheap - and there's a reason for that. You get what you pay for.

It's interesting to note that sixty to seventy percent of our clients had already been through chain store group lessons before they called us for help. These people all said pretty much the same things:

1) It was hard for the dog to learn in that setting. There were too many distractions.

2) They did not give us enough help with the household problems.

3) The dog is a year old now and is totally out of control.

We believe that our Puppy GoodStart program is a much better choice for your puppy's early training than chain store group lessons. Our program is designed to help you use the early learning and development process to build a strong and lasting bond with your puppy.

Start your puppy off on the right paw with this comprehensive training course, ideal for first time dog owners.
